Iris orientalis
This elegant iris belongs to the iris group called Spuria. Spuria irises bloom after bearded irises and the flowers resemble those of Dutch irises that are commonly found as cut flowers in supermarkets in spring. The long slender petals are white and yellow. The flowers are carried on stiffly upright stems well above the upright, mid-green, sword-like leaves. Each stems bears up to 5 flowers. Bees love them too.
