Iris 'Autumn Leaves'

An old fragrant variety raised in 1972 by the wonderful American iris breeder, Keith Keppel. A beautiful blend of autumn colours, the sweetly scented flowers are the colour of caramel, but the falls are overlaid with a strong smear of purple. The beards are orange-yellow.

How Much Sun: Full Sun
Bearded irises need to be planted with the rhizome, or root, just above the soil. This is because the rhizome needs to be baked by the sun in order to form flowers. Make sure that there is not too much competition from surrounding plants and remove any weeds.
