Long slender pointed spires of soft lilac buds open into tiny, pale pink flowers. Below the first spire is a ring of further spires. Below each spire sits a long, deep green leaf and future rings of flowers and foliage open all the way down the stiff stems. Veronicastrums are lovely for further back in the border.
