Symphytum rubrum

(Comfrey)

In spring curling sprays of small, tubular, pinkish red flowers emerge from a clump of upright deep green leaves. Not at all invasive. My favorite Comfrey by far.

Info

Colour: Red
Flowers: May, June, and July
Height x Spread: 45cm x 45cm
Soil: Well-drained
How Much Sun: Part shade/Full Shade
Hardy to -10 degrees or more, I've found this a little tricky to establish than other varieties of Comfrey, which grow happily in any soil in shade. I think this might need a better draining soil. A lovely plant non-the-less.
