The flowers of this very beautiful plant open a blend of soft cream and pink with maroon flares at the base. As the flower increases into a semi-double, ruffled bloom the tones of red fade leaving a wonderful cream flower with petals that curl neatly back to show the long, rather wiggly, yellow stamens.

Hardy to -15 degrees and more, these loose the leaves in autumn leaving a handsome framework of woody stems visible all winter. Tree peonies need to planted with the grafting union placed at least 10 cm below the soil surface. Prune back any dead growth in spring as soon as the buds turn red.
