Peony 'Sugar 'n Spice'

A very original peony. The very, large bright rich-pink petals are very lightly ruffled and unfold from big buds into a wide saucer. The petals are set around an immense, low dome of disorderly gold stamens. Each bloom is carried on a red-tinged flower stem with big, shiny, light green leaves. The stems, although strong, never grow straight. One of the earliest peonies to bloom in my garden.
