Peony 'John Harvard'

This handsome peony has very dark red flowers that don't fade over time and can look almost black in a certain light. The petals, which have a matt surface, are round and slightly crimped. They create a deep bowl around gold steamns that eventually loosen enough to show soft-green carpels with little pink tips. Stiff flower stems carry, thick, dark green leaves, but no extra flower buds.
