Melittis melissophyllum
(Bastard balm)
An upright plant with large, white, magenta-lipped flowers that spring from the stem above each pair of leaves. I first saw this growing wild in a woodland in Devon. Easy to grow in a semi-shaded spot, such as under the canopy edge of trees, where the soil remains moist.
