Gorgeous creamy white flowers thick petals that help it to withstand any bad weather. The falls are almost entirely washed with yellow, then etched with pencil lines of brown-purple leaving only a rim of cream. The flowers are held on nicely branched stems. The scent is reminiscent of daffodils. Late season.
Bearded irises need to be planted with the rhizome, or root, just above the soil. This is because the rhizome needs to be baked by the sun in order to form flowers. Make sure that there is not too much competition from surrounding plants and remove any weeds.
