Iris 'Prosper Langier'
A very old variety with maroon falls that are touched with violet and have a rim of buff. The standards are also buff and flushed with maroon-violet. White lines surround yellow beards. A plant that I acquired via the Hardy Plant Society (I think) many years ago therefore I assume it is true to name.

Bearded irises need to be planted with the rhizome, or root, just above the soil. This is because the rhizome needs to be baked by the sun in order to form flowers. Make sure that there is not too much competition from surrounding plants and remove any weeds.
