Fabulous thistle like white flowers topped with soft pink are carried on stiff stems above a mound of long, thistle-type, non-hurting, leaves. Does not flower for as long as Cirsium rivale 'Atropurpureum', but is a show stopper.

Hardy to -10 degrees and more, the leaves remain throughout the year with new ones replacing older leaves in spring. Cut back in spring to tidy up the plant. I've found it easy to grow in both sandy and clay soils.
