Chaerophyllum hirsutum 'Roseum'
(Hairy chervil)
One of the real delights of spring, this beautiful plant produces broad, flat, Cow parsley like flowers of soft lilac-pink above a lush mound of deeply divided, light green leaves. Excellent for mid to late spring colour. Excellent in soils that are remain moist.

Hardy to -10 degrees and more, the leaves remain throughout the year with new ones replacing older leaves in spring. Cut back in spring to tidy up the plant. The deep tap roots like a soil that does not dry out, and can be a little fussy where it grows, but I've found it to be happy in clay or sandy soil that remains moist.
