Centaurea atropurpurea

Centaurea atropurpurea
  • Centaurea-atropurpurea2
Although this looks rather like a weed it is quite interesting. The slender stems of silver-green, deeply cut leaves are topped with a dark red nob-like flower that sits on top of silver-edged, brown bracts. Useful for upright, but not broad structure between more hefty specimens.

Care advice

I've found this rather fussy to grow, and liable to topple over in windy spots.
