A dark red, nob-like flower sits on top of silver-edged, brown bracts. Each bloom is borne on a slender stems that rises from a clump of finely divided, mid-green leaves. Useful for upright, but not broad structure between more hefty specimens.

A hardy perennial, to -15 degrees or more. The foliage dies back in autumn and emerges again in spring. I've found this rather fussy to grow, and liable to topple over in windy spots.
