Cardamine pratensis

(Lady's smock/Cuckooflower)

This wild flower grows freely in the pasture where sheep and our pig graze, although they do like the taste of them. However, as long as no animals are around the little lilac-white flowers pop up just above the grass on straight stems. Although I would not recommend it for a border, this is a spring delight for any lawn or boggy areas of the garden.
