Tall upright stems carry indigo blue, lupin like flowers above blue-green clover-like leaves that look just as lovely when they emerge. As the plant matures the stems begin to arch outwards from the centre forming a handsome, upright, see-through clump with what looks like a ladder of leaves. Think of this as a good substitute for a lupin, but much more drought resistant. Forms a very handsome clump.
