Although the name includes 'Red' I have found this fabulous astrantia to be more in the pink ranges, especially in certain circumstances and depending on the weather. The leaves mid-green with a darker tinge.

Hardy to -10 degrees or more. A hardy perennial this dies back in autumn and re emerges again in spring. Cut back the old foliage before new leaves start to grow in spring. Easy to grow in the right soil. Divide every three years to keep vigorous.
