Astilbe 'Darkside of the Moon'
(False goat's beard)
This is looks nothing like an Astilble until you see the flowers. A neat mound of chocolate leaves, resembling those of a Heuchera, create a handsome backdrop to the brown, stiff stems that sparkle with well-branched, tiny, pinkish purple flowers. These open from mauve buds to add a neat dimension the flowers.
