Smallish, lilac, star-shaped flowers are carried at the ends of the well-branched near-black slender stems, which are clothed in small, dark green leaves. This creates an open, airy plant that despite being very tall it is also very upright and needs no support. It is perfect for the back of a big border, or for planting with tall grasses.
