Primula capitata

(Round-headed himalayan primrose)

An intriguing short primula with flat heads of lilac bell shaped flowers, like upright rosettes, balanced on grey stems that rise from a thick clump of silver-backed, soft green leaves. I grow it on the north side of my house, where the soil almost never dries out.
