The dramatic flowers of this stunning plant are basically scarlet, but each flower is decorated with uneven white stripes. The amount of white stripes will vary from one bloom to another, and one plant to another. They borne on a neat, upright shrub with large, deeply divided, mid-green leaves.
Like all tree peonies, this shrub has woody stems that remain above ground throughout the year. Tree peonies need to planted with the grafting union placed at least 10 cm (4 inches) below the soil surface. Prune back any dead growth in spring as soon as the buds turn red.
