A handsome giant amongst these wonderful, colourful plants. Ramrod straight stems are topped with fat spike of long, rich orange trumpet like flowers. As each flower fades it turns yellow to create a two-tone spike. At the base sits a handsome rosette of long, thin, grey-green leaves.

Care advice

In my experience this prefers to be grown in a well-drained soil, but others say it needs a rich soil.
