Intersectional Hybrids
These fabulous plants were not introduced until the late 1980's, when they were known as ‘Itoh’s and they are hybrids between tree peonies and herbaceous peonies. The foliage tends to be more like that of the tree peony, deeply divided and large. The flowers are large and single to semi-double.
They should be planted and cultivated like herbaceous peonies. All grow to around 3ft (90cm) in height. Flowering season starts with the large double peonies, which is early/mid June and continues for about 3 weeks.

'Bartzella' More upright than 'Garden Treasure', this produces soft yellow, rather fluffy, yellow flowers with soft raspberry pink flares at the base. The foliage is deep green and it blooms later than 'Garden Treasure'. £80.00 Buy Now

‘Julia Rose’
A stunning plant, it has large, silky, semi-double flowers. The colour changes as it opens; beginning red and it quickly passes to rose-pink with a inner glow of gold emanating from the depth of the petals. In the centre sits a tight mound of golden stamens. The flowers are produced in profusion, a little earlier than those of Peony ‘Garden Treasure’, over a bush of thick, long, deeply divided foliage. A truly handsome plant. 90cm (3ft). £80
